Central question

What has changed in the forecast, which decisions follow, and do responsible institutions have the authority, money and practical direction to act?

Earlier information has public value only when it reaches a decision threshold, a named authority, available finance and action before impact.

Coverage

The decisions in view

  1. 01

Authoritative seasonal, short-range and impact-based guidance, with date, geography and confidence preserved.

  2. 02

Formal or practical triggers that move a forecast into a public decision.

  3. 03

The chain from authority and finance to execution, outcome and learning before the next event.

Current assessment

Kenya’s October–December 2026 decision window

The forecast and preparedness record now shows reported execution in 18 counties, including named drainage and sewer work in Kiambu and recent rescue-training and multi-agency activation evidence from Machakos; procurement remains open in Kisii and Wajir, while a readiness mechanism covers Marsabit, Isiolo and Samburu. Finance and completion evidence remain uneven.
